CBRE Supports YOSEIDO with Ginza Flagship Opening
CBRE supported Yoseido Planning Promotion, a skincare company, with the lease of their new flagship YOSEIDO Ginza Store.
May 11, 2021
CBRE (Japan Headquarters: Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce that it has supported Yoseido Planning Promotion Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter YOSEIDO), a skincare company, with the lease of their new flagship "YOSEIDO Ginza Store" which opened on August 29, 2020.
At the end of November 2019, YOSEIDO appointed CBRE to broker the lease contract for their new flagship store. As a result of this project, the first basement floor to the second floor of the Seishokan building is now a space where customers can experience YOSEIDO’s new brand "KOIVE" right in the heart of Ginza.
CEO of YOSEIDO, Shigetoshi Kikuchi, who oversaw this project, said, "Opening a street level store to showcase and promote our brand was something we considered from early on. Furthermore, we felt that Ginza matched our brand image and target audience - women in their 30s and 40s. Our vision was to create a "white birch forest" in the store to portray the image of our brand KOVIE but it was difficult to find a building that would allow this. Despite this, CBRE was able to find us a property in the middle of Ginza where we could. The CBRE team then negotiated and confirmed the building conditions, construction process, and scheduling. Without such support, we would not have been able to create a space where customers can fully experience the brand's worldview, so we are very grateful to everyone at CBRE."
Zen Fukuhana (Associate Consultant, Advisory & Transaction Services | Retail, CBRE K.K.) also commented, "For this project, we supported the client by selecting a location that matched the client's brand image and strategy, and a building that would accept tree planting – something that was key in expressing the brand's vision. With the pandemic and the situation constantly changing, we had to prepare for the store opening on a tight schedule. We worked closely with the owner and tenants, maintaining close communication and following up to ensure that the interior work would proceed without delay. As a result, I am very pleased that we were able to create the store that our client envisioned, despite the uncertainties of COVID. We will leverage this experience to continue to deliver value and support our clients with their store opening needs."
