Noboru brings nearly 20 years of international real estate investment experience to his position as Head of Investment Banking at CBRE in Japan. His primary role is to lead equity & debt placement efforts and financing arrangements for international capital and continues to focus on cross-border activities (Japanese institutions investing abroad as well as for non-Japanese capital investing in Japan). With extensive experience in international real estate combined with his network and access to Japanese capital, he is expected to bring further growth to the capital advisory business in Japan.
Mr. Hirabayashi joins CBRE from Diamond Realty Management, a real estate investment management arm of Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), where he specialized in cross-border real estate investments, spending time in the United States and Japan. He was most recently a Managing Director at one of MC’s affiliates in Los Angeles where he led new ventures for the firm and launched multiple equity and debt funds in the U.S. for Japanese institutions. One of the key successes he made while at Diamond Realty is the launch of open-ended fund in the US, which was the first ever U.S. specialized real estate open-ended fund led by the Japanese managers. He played a key role from the U.S., building an initial portfolio for the fund, worth close to $300M.
Prior to that, he led the development of joint-ventures and investment management programs at GE Capital Real Estate.
