Japan Lender Survey 2023

Conducted in April 2023, CBRE’s latest Lender Survey found that while some Japanese lenders have eased their financing policies from last year, others are beginning to adopt a more conservative approach. In addition to the fact that Japanese monetary policy is entering a period of slight uncertainty, this change in attitude is also due to concerns over a potential weakening of the market for certain asset types.​

Using the findings of the survey, this report provides an analysis of financing policies for non-recourse real estate loans in the 2023 fiscal year, and makes a series of projections for the future financing environments of each sector.
